Broken But Not Out

So whilst my arm is slowly healing I am working hard on rhinestoning and prepping for my show in Telford next weekend. If my arm is not healed enough I have spoken to the doc and he showed me a rather pretty way to make my arm more secure though pretty none the less. It involves some fancy material and clever knots.

I did go out on friday night to the Brick House to the Jitterbug Jive. It started quiet but soon picked up. The band were good though their name has escaped my memory. The hula hooping girl really got the crowd going. She worked hard to. I didnt stay long as too many people kept knocking into my poor arm so went home but not before dropping into the 24hr Ponti cafe near Liverpool Stn. A good cup of tea!

taking on my phone using the 'polaroid' function.

Yesterday I took another trip to Brick Lane as I was once again yearning for a glimpse of the real world after being pretty much flat bound as my arm was pretty painful. So along with a good mate I ventured into the vibrant bustling world of Brick Lane. I adore all the markets that are there. I poked my head in on the vintage mark at 85 Brick Lane but didnt find anything that took my fancy strong enough to part with my hard earned pennies. I did have a rummage through the record shop in the tea rooms and nearly bought some Billie Holiday vinyl but was pulled away to the jewellry stall. I ended up buying a fantastic beaded necklace for my new Dark Before The Dawn act. I almost bought a beaded head band as my friend is getting married with a 1930s wedding theme though it wasnt quite right.

I did pop into my favourite bowling alley/50s dinner All Star Lanes for an alcoholic milkshake. The Baileys milkshake was divine! GO! Its all rather fake it is 50s kitsch but I like it right down to the vinyl seats n gingham table clothes.

On my way out of Brick Lane I decided to pop into Rough Trade. I do love this shop as its FULL of vinyl and it has kitsch items like an old 70's space invader game...it wasnt until I was browsing through the nu disco vinyl I noticed a lad looking at me. First I thought he was staring else where but when he motioned for me to look behind me that I realised why I had caught his attention. Behind me on proud display was my cover of Dodgem Logic!  I laughed and was very excited, quickly snapping my cover before going back to grab the covers of my other mates. (3 collectable covers for the Feb issue). As I paid the lady said this was the last one of my covers as people had been buying them. Talk about a head swelling moment! She looked up and looked embarrassed as she asked me if it was me on the cover. I nodded and then said 'clearly photoshopped'. Hey its the truth.

Anyway I also noticed an old photo of me on their wall. They have this great black n white photobooth and about a few months ago I pratted around in it and low n behold there on their wall was my photo.
apologies for the rude hand gesture.

I rather like it...I am all chav like in I? LOL

I splashed out a bit on my camera (again) today whilst shopping in Uxbridge with a mate. I ended up buying a flash gun to play with. Not an overly expensive but enough. So I tried it out on a trip to my local lido. Its going to take some getting used to but will post my images (after editting of course) in due course. I also popped into Accessorize and bought some fantastic net opera gloves for £3.60 a pair! Great sale buy!

Right back to my rhinestoning. Night all!
