Arrived...Christmas Australia Style

Thankfully my parents have a pretty good internet connection so I should be able to update this site pretty regularly. I have been here about 3 days and each one has been awesome. Jetlag has nearly gone though I am rather shattered even now despite the early nights.

The flight over was pretty uneventful despite someone being removed from the flight at Abu Dhabi and my butt going numb about 2 hrs into the 14 hour leg of the flight to Australia. I arrived in Sydney to wall of gorgeous heat which was stark contrast to the miserable icy cold of London I had left behind some 24 hours ago.

As soon as I had unpacked I headed into the local surfer town Cronulla. I tucked into some food that tasted delicious in comparison to the microwave tat I had eaten on the airplane. But the jetlag soon set in and I was to bed so quick I barely registered the day.

The next day was Christmas and I had an absolute blast. My dad dressed up as Santa Claus and we all ate bbq'd snapper fish instead of the usual customary over dry turkey!

Cooking Xmas dinner Aussie style!

Christmas Parental style...god help me!

We even went to the beach and pratted around in the sun. Was odd to see it so busy considering it was Christmas day. Perhaps everyone else had the same idea as us (walk off the food we had stuffed ourselves with)

With the Parental Units at the beach!

Boxing day saw a visit to Botany Bay which was where Captain Cook first landed in Australia. It was really pretty there though the weather was slightly drizzly but was no where near as cold as the UK is! I heard it was -1 Boxing day! eeek!

Ode to some fabulous friends on Botany Bay beach!

Anyway after some cliff top walking (bloody high up) and some wildlife encounters at the Royal National Park I was more than happy to head home as to be honest I am EXHAUSTED!

Tomorrow is the wildlife park..cant wait!

A Special Thank You!

Sorry...I know I said I probably wouldnt be able to post for a wee while but I couldnt help but post a few iamges I received last night. One of them really struck a chord with me. This year has had its ups and downs for my both personally and professionally but this single image really made me see how much happiness burlesque brings me. A special thank you and a Khandie Khiss goes to the photographer James Thrope for capturing the image. Thank you. I really mean it...plus a wee thanks to Alan Moore for hiring me to perform at his Dodgem Logic magazine launch where the image was captured.

The image that made me realise. Copyright James Thorpe

I have a few other images from the launch that are also from James that made me smile for all sorts of reasons...mainly because I am a muppet in them! But I HAD to share them!

Darkteaser, John and I being...well special.

Anna and I abusing a banana....yes...FREAKS

Bendy KK...thanks to oodles of physio and pilates!

Anyway adieu and I will see you after I get back from Australia in January.

Vivid Soda and Beyond

WOW what a crazy weekend. From skidding in my car on the ice in Aylesbury to meet a inspirational lady.

Despite the heavy snowfall and dodgy driving conditions I journeyed  to Aylesbury to see a close friend and work. The work was ok...less said the better to be honest. Admittedly most of my Aylesbury trip was spent drinking Champagne Sangria and rehearsing my newest act to debut at Vivid Soda on the Sunday. To say I was bricking it would be an understatement. I was however put at easy after seeing the new custom corset design and created exclusively for me by Lynn of Vintage Lynndy Loo. It a creation to be hold. With the added splendour of my beautiful star encrusted bustle and panties from Lucy at Burldoir  I knew the act would be beautiful visually even if anything went wrong.

Champagne Sangria...made by me!

Vivid Soda is a show I have done a few times and have always performed to a great crowd and this night was no different. Each performer bought something new and exciting: Banbury Cross was her ever beautiful self performing a near nude fan dance and her champagne striptease; there was my beautiful bellydancer Luli Blue  who performed a belly dance and a clock work doll act (FABULOUS!); there was the stunning Fifi Fatale who wowed the crowd with both routines: a strip tease and a beautiful art deco inspired routine; Warren Speed entertained as both Charlie Chaplin and then in a double act with the gorgeous, stunning Kiki Kaboom to perform a chav act to end all shows! It bought the house down! Plus a local lady making her debut! She went down very well amongst the crowd. I have to admit I forgot her full name but it does translate as Madam Naughty. Tee hee! Oh and there was me!

Whilst the show was fabulous to say the least and James Thorpe captured some fantastic images of us all....it was two particular audience members who stole my heart for the night. I wont spill names due to reasons that will be clear. Both were clearly in love with one another but it wasnt that that made my heart break. The woman informed me she had breast cancer. I was shell shocked to say the least I mean she looked healthy and vibrant...ok so not all people are sick, pale and withering but she seemed genuinely chuffed with life...she was smiling as she FINALLY gets to have massive breasts! (LOL her words!) she was excited that after the surgery she could have implants. Her sunny outlook on the whole situation made me realise this disease isnt all doom and gloom and has some positive outcomes....for her at least. Her husband seemed immensely proud of her.... I nearly cried like a soppy bugger especially when I learnt he was off to Afghanistan soon. So instead of snotting everywhere we danced and posed for photos together.

Copyright James Thorpe

A truelly fantastic weekend of all sorts of reasons.

Anyway....this may be my last blog for a while for tomorrow I board a plane to Australia to visit my family do some sightseeing and some work things...cant wait! I may be able to get online though for a bit....

Lovely Suprise

Sometime ago I worked with a rather talented and vibrant photographer going by the name Felicity Fatale. Well that name may seem odd for photogrpaher but this lady is also a very accomplished model. Her art nude work is some of the best I have seen in a long while.

Anyway I received some fabulous iamges back that were really different for me and something I would love to do again (hint hint F!).Then recently whilst updating my twitter status (with some garbage no less) I noticed a link Felicity had posted. LOW AND BEHOLD it was a link to our shoot! well more the blog entry about our shoot!

So here is a link to the shoot blog she wrote: http://www.felicity365.co.uk/2009/12/the-darling-of-burlesque.html

Very flattering article about me I thought!

You should really check out her profile her images of male models are rather stunning.

Excited

Ok so this time next week I will boarding my plane to Australia. To say I am excited would be a very BIG understatement. I cant wait. Not only to I get to see my parents who immigrated to Sydney this year but I also get to perform. I cant wait to show my photos off. I will attempt to blog though unsure if I can as I will be uber busy.

Anyway this week I have had the dreaded nasty flu...so nasty I had to spend a few days in bed snotting and wallowing in self pity. God I hate that. Anyway I pretty much back to health though have a slightly husky voice.

I performed at the lovely Frank Sanazi's White Christmas show, Dirty Dicks, Liverpool Street. Was a great night and I met some lovely people. Frank is hysterical so if you get a chance to watch his show you really should. The Blondes De Amour who invited me to perform are quite possibly the cutest buttons in burlesque. So yummy and scrummy. The sad thing was that I left pretty much after my performance as the flu still hadnt gone away.

Khandie as Bad Ass Alice!

Anyway I went off to party to celebrate my lovely friend Rae-Rae's birthday. She looked so pretty and pregnant as she is due to give birth in February. She is going to make one yummy mummy. The night was pretty fabulous...especially when my friend donned on my shoes and made himself up to look like a very rough lady. Though the antics of Rob didnt stop there...he somehow managed to rip the flat screen TV off the wall and squash a gramaphone. All by accident but none the less hysterical.

Rob n I slightly merry giggling on the floor.

Anyway I had better go as I have to rehearse my newest act. I am hoping the bits I need arrive tomorrow so I can finish the routine. I am so nervous aboout debuting this act as unlike my others this one is to classical music and is fundamentally a classical burlesque act. AAAHHHH FISH OUT OF WATER SPRINGS TO MIND. Lets hope those dance lessons pay off. That said I am enjoying pushing myself to try something new.

ciao for now!

GO ON MY SON! DO US PROUD!

Not Long Now

This rather dodgely taken photo was to show that it not long until my Australia trip...about 12 days to be precise. Oh yeah!

Anyway I shouldnt gloat as it seems a decade since I went on holiday and alot of people cant afford to go away.

I am so excited as I land in Sydney 24th Dec which means I get to spend Christmas day with my folks...well sort of as I have a suspicion I may have jet lag and thus be sleeping most of it.

Clean Up!

Just a few things from the last couple of days that I forgot to mention.

I danced in the window of Nikita Sablier to mark her one year anniversary

Marie and I in the window...I am a dork.

Also I appear to be on a Christmas card! Lucy (my beloved costume designer from Burldoir) sent me one. was a nice suprise.

the Xmas card! tee hee

I was also given a picture inspired by me from the lovely Petal from Dixie Doll tattoo parlour...my boobs are pretty cool! LOL

Ahh bless!

I had to share this photo also...I like the way I look almost elegant...and I think I must have lost weight as I look slimmer since I last checked.....

Sunday 6 December 2009

WOWZER of a week

I have had a great week, especially the weekend. One highlight has to be my two performances for the Puppini Sisters' Christmas Show in Poole. I was there to perform along side GREAT mates from Rubyz. There was the great Annie of Burlesque or Bust and Light n Shade fame, the Kitty Kat Cabaret and the Darlings Divine academy. The Puppini Sisters were so very lovely.  They graciously signed autographed and posed for what seemed to be endless photos.

Me with the Puppini Sisters.

I should say I am rather underdressed here but I love my Voodoo Kitten 13 top and Amber Sweet hair flower! Starla James    , Matt (of Frankenstein Pictures) and Starla's mom came to the show. I could hear them cheering even before I got on stage. Tammy 'Dixie Doll' Bailey, Jason (Mr Bailey), Sarah and Mark also came along.

Light n Shade with the Puppinis

It was a really good night and I had a great time performing. I even performed an act I had literally created on the night after Annie called needing a 2nd act short notice. I turned the car around (bearing in mind I was 20 mins away from the venue at the time) and grabbed a costume. Annie somehow convinced me I could come up with an act to Etta James' At Last song so to be in keeping of the 40s theme for the night. I feel i managed to pull it off....just...LOL

Performing at the Puppini gig.

I performed the new act and my beloved Baby of the Blitz. I did cause a bit of drama by leaping over the barrier to perform amongst the audience.

Saturday saw me in the most loveliest barber shop ever. Jason Bailey is Southbourne based barber with a difference. Not only does he make a mean cup of coffee at his mini coffee bar in shop, but dressed head to toe in tweed he cuts a mean hair do too. Below the barber shop is the lovely Dixie Doll tattoo parlour where the lovely Tammy (Jason's wifey) and Petal work!

Because it was the lovely Bailey's wedding anniversary we all went out to dinner. Jason entertained us with a rather witty and slightly naughtt anecdote about the waitress who served us. I darent repeat it but it was rather funny. Tempest (GREAT NAME!) kept us entertained with her drawings and games...i think she gets her cracking personality from her parents. I love Tempest. She drew me loads of pictures. All of which I have plans to put up in my office.

Sunday I compered and told a few funnies at the What Katie Did christmas party. Richard one of the brains behind the company had previously bid and won me at the Help the Heroes charity auction and tasked me to do this little job in return. It was an absolute pleasure to do so. I met some lovely people: Slinky Sparkles, Polly Rae, Fleur De Guerre, Emma Threadneedle and loads of others. Slinky performed a lovely striptease while a Mr P played the saw. Now if you havent ever seen this before I suggest you do. The sound emitted is one of an eerie quality but no less beautiful. Who would have thought it?!

Anyway next week is gearing up to be another manic one! So will keep ya'll posted!

Friday 4 December 2009

Twas the night before....

Ok so its 1.36am on Sunday morning and I cant sleep still. I mean I am packed and already to go...even managed to put a few more rhinestones on frilly pants...but the thought of performing to a sell out crowd at the Puppini Sister's gig has been keeping me awake. GOD I NEED TO SLEEP!!!

Anyway the suitcase is packed, my nail are painted and my hair is in curlers (fingers crossed it all holds!). I am performing my Baby of The Blitz routine which is one of my favourite to perform as its so cutesy...

Right I am off to bed...and attempt to sleep. Will blog later (probably Sunday)

Epic! Sort Of

So for those you may have read the previous post (if you havent...crack on!) I had a bit of a marathon mini tour of England.

Firstly I went from London to Preston, then Preston to Northampton, then Northampton to Exeter, then Exeter to Torquay, Tourquay to Plymouth and finally Plymouth to London and then home.

MANIC. National rail got practically all the way which was lovely to be able to snooze on the train between performances. No smelly BO infested person sat next to me either which was lovely though mildly/oddly disappointing. Have had this been a regular occurnace for me whenever I go by train I felt somehow ripped off for my ticket when I didnt get one.

So one highlight for me was performing for the legendary Alan Moore (of V for Vendetta and Watchmen amongst others fame.). He is lauching a new magazine called Dodgem Logic. GO BUY A COPY! Its awesome!!!!

Alan takes to the stage

I was rather star struck by it all. Darkteaser, Luli Blue, Nicole A Lure and myself tasselled and twirled our ways through the shows. It was lovely to be back with old friends and enjoy ourselves. Special mention to James and Anna Thrope, Tamsyn Payne and Joe Brown for looking after us all. By the way Nicole is behind the Hourglass photographic company. A lovely present for any lady!

Exeter was another personal highlight as I got to see the multi-talented couple The Bells AKA Kinky and Quirky Burlesque N Boogie. Mark and Sarah have managed to create one hell of a burlesque night out in a town that had never seen burlesque before. People come from all over to watch their shows. I spoke to people from Canterbury and Cardiff who had come to see the show. I perfomed along side the rather ravishing Soup De Jour (her cat act is amazingly fabulous) and the ever magnetic Equador the Wizard (GO SEE THIS MAN PERFORM!) He bought the house down with his final act and I HIGHLY recommend you go see him! Mark Bell is also a talented artist. His work is very highly admired and so much so I am looking to purchase a painting myself.

my new costume...back stage at Kinky and Quirky.

As Kinky and Quirky is based in my home town I often feel odd coming back but Mark and Sarah make you feel so welcome its fantastic to be there. I adore performing at their shows and cant wait to go back.

with the lovely Soup De Jour!

Plymouth saw me staying in a cold but still pleasant enough hotel as I was performing at Annabels. Admitedly I was nervous as I had never performed there before but needn't have bothered to be.

A cracking band (the Faux Fur Full)  was playing some pretty rocking tunes very Big Voodoo Daddies sounding though they covered alot of similar band songs. Though there was no specific stage to perfom on Annabel (owner and name sake) managed to clear a space in front of the band for myself and two new performers  (Midnight Caller and Midnight Iris). The crowd were lovely even though some were rather drunk. I loved all the gold mirrors and chequered flooring. Andy who helpt to run the club was so cute! He danced backstage with us girls...proper snake hips going on. Annabel was nice too. She runs a tight ship which was good to see.

Anyway before long I was back in London and in Nikita Sablier dancing in her shop window to celebrate her one year annviersary of the shop opening!

OH NEWS FLASH!!!

Manic Couple of weeks!

Phone picture of me at the shoot....LOVE THE HAIR AND MAKE UP!

Well its been manic to say the least. From a rather sad and devastating personal crisis to the madness of a friggin AWESOME shoot with Mitch Jenkins (WOWOWOWOWOW) I have been busy.

a rather stern picture of me at the photoshoot.

The start of the week saw me hanging out in my favourite boutique (yes you guessed it Nikita Sablier in Kingly Court, off Carnaby St). It was the Grazia magazine 20% off day so I popped down to help Nikki out. With my lovely friend Glory Pearl in tow we mingled and mooched and basically encouraged people to buy. And buy they did.

Khandie and the girls!

The talented Maria even gave mini makeovers and demos to the customers which was a lovely idea. One that myself, Lola Cherry and Glory took full advantage of! Nikita even lent us all dresses to wear so we looked extra special....no not that kind of special!

The lovely Glory Pearl being pampered by Maria.

Myself and the lovely Marie

Even the world's sexiest librarian showed up to purchase a garment (Rhiannon!) Mind you she is probably one of the shop's best customers....after me of course!

Squeeze in.

In my rather lovely lingerie from Nikita Sablier at the Mitch Jenkins shoot.

I had such a great shoot with the very talented Mitch Jenkins
and his creative team. I mean it was a chance of lifetime as far as I am concerned. I learnt so much and was able to be my quirky self as he seemed to like that...LOL What was nice was getting share it with my burlesque babe mates Luli Blue and Darkteaser. We pretty much caused havoc and mischief all day long.

Myself and the fabulous Luli Blue rocking out backstage at the photoshoot.

I don't mean the usual 'busy' I mean the busy that's too little time to eat sleep or even wee kinda busy! And what's more it appears as though the next few weeks are going to be the same. I am going to be in Northampton, Preston, Exeter (home town YEAH!), Plymouth and then back to London for more shows and appearances than I care to think about. Northampton should be a good one as I am performing at the magazine launch for Dodgem Logic which is a new underground magazine fronted by the multi talented Alan Moore. So....SQUEAL!

Monday 16 November 2009

Aahhh Bliss!

So yours truly has had a fun weekend which has been somewhat relaxing. After a rather lovely evening at the beatiful boutique that is Nikita Sablier, I somehow (yeah right) came away with a new dress and corset. Purchased with love and care might I add! The corset is for my Moon Dance act which shall be debuted (fingers crossed) this weekend in Bournemouth at a private party. Its from Angels Carrying Savage Weapons and is a beautiful blue. I also purchased an 8 strap suspender belt and a new Bettie Page Clothing dress.

So having spent a night frantically sewing my new costume, rhinestoning and rehearsing I needed a day of relaxation. Just as though my fairy godmother had been listening I was asked to go away for a weekend of nothingness. I grabbed it with both hands and ran off to pack!

Now this trip also tied in well with seeing some venues for a new venture of mine. More news will follow. So anyway one photoshoot was arranged for the Saturday so after that I was free to enjoy my weekend. I loved it!

I even met up with fellow burlesque darling Delilah Dufoe at Leigh on Sea and indulged in seafood and sandcastles. I even took some pictures of her with my new Nikon D90 camera I treated myself to!

So after a relaxing weekend I am back and refreshed to see Avenue Q this evening and get rehearsing and organising!

New Act...New Style...New Hair

It would appear that I have done an 'about turn' on my burlesque style; at least for the moment. I am taking on a new act with another in the pipeline which is quite removed from my usual style. I am looking at a more stylised, glamorous appeal with these acts. I am even getting the old sewing machine out to make a few pieces of it my self. Anyway wish me luck as some people like think outside the box...I appear to have thrown it away.

PS new hair. Midnight purple fringe n sides with the rest platinum.

Nice...for now.

Blimey! I book a seat on a train and some snotty suit is sat in it.
Won't move because he's had a hard day...oh bless. BOOK YOUR OWN SEAT
THEN. Don't worry old boy I have a nice gangway I can stand in the whole
way. Just rest your over worked arse in that seat. LOL
Not quit the blog entry I had planned but hey ho. Just for reference my
beloved iPod is dolling out some awesome tunes; usually random selection
brings up cringe worthy numbers I forgot I had (and no I won't shame
myself by naming them).

Oh he's moved...off I pop xxx

Sunday 1 November 2009

and...relax

Well thats the weekend over. I am bruised and shatted.

Friday night with Mr Sexual (Ricky) at Proud was fabulous. He is such a lovely boy. We watched some cracking burlesque despite the sound and lighting issues at the venue. I think I may have drunken the bar dry...OPPS!

Ricky and I

Saturday I spent a great deal of the morning recovering rather badly. Something to do with the gin shots I fear...though I blame Ricky. It easier blaming him than I.

I had a performance at the fabulous Southwark Playhouse to do in the evening. The Secrets team (if you havent been to one of their shows...GO!) managed to turn the theatre, bar and back area into one huge Halloween party. It reminded me very much of Sleepy Hollow...there were old batter chairs with creepy china dolls, hangman nooses, scarecrows, victoriana inspired artifacts and much much more. I would have loved to have done a shoot there before the party kicked off. Oh well.

I was performing my 'Rabbit Poison' act which went down rather well even if I do say so myself. I lost a purple glove and stocking somewhere along the line but no bother (easily replaced).

Whilst the show was marvellous, my journey home was not. Some man tried to mug me. Whilst he managed rather unsucessfully to relieve me of my bag he did manage to throw me to the floor and punch me. I have no idea why he would want my fan carrier bag. Perhpas he was a budding boylesquer?

Anyway once home I felt much better. Grr!!!

Today (Sunday) I went with the delightful Rhiannon to the British Museum as they had a Day of the Dead event scheduled. I have to say I was mildly disappointed with the lack of exhibitions on the subject but loved the native dancers and parade.

The dancers really got the group going with their brightly coloured dresses and routines. The accompanying band were so adorable!!!
So now I am home and rather tired. But not ready for bed yet as I am working on a new act....a rather special and different act for me. More information will come in due course I promise...but for now it is being kept close to my chest as this is a routine that is very new in style for me.

The Weekend A La Khandie

So ok today is only Thursday but I am already excited about the weekend. For once I am only performing one night only rather than the usual three times (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)! Which I have to say is rather tiring especially if I have a show or photoshoot in the week.
So Friday I am off to a club that I cant really tell you about...not that its a naughty club but its the kind of club that is run like a prohibition club night. I will be there dancing and jiving with like minded people.

aaah....Saturday is HALLOWEEN...so I will be spending the day sleeping (recovering from Friday) and then will be attending a friend's party before heading into London for the Southwark Playhouse Halloween Party where I am performing two acts...Cant wait!! It looks to be a fabulous night.

Then Sunday I am off to the British Museum for DAY OF THE DEAD! yeah! See you there!

Oh Dear! Shopping Again!

Ok so having resolved myself to the fact that I cant spend too much money over the next coming months in prep for my trip to Australia over Christmas/New Year to see the parental units (and the odd performance and modelling assignment) I couldnt resist myself when I heard Nikita Sablier had new stock in!

You see when there is new stock it is rarely in the shop as it usually flies out. Nikki (the shop owner/model/make up artist/stylist/goddess) knows just what we pinup princess and burlesque beauties want and gets it in. Now whilst you can order in items she doesnt have the stock (which is bloody marvellous if you ask me) she has so many awesome dresses, corsets, lingerie and dont get me started on the hand bags, tassels and fascinators!

She even has a jukebox playing 40s/50s/swing/jazz/rockabilly tunes. I am forever dancing to it which bemuses the fellow customers I am sure...It makes me want to get one for my living room...oh dear I can hear my bank manager scream already LOL.

I almost bought the window display outfit which was a lovely Bettie Page Clothing high waisted braced skirt and blouse. I took a picture as I loved it so much...I may go back an purchase it.

So I gave in and bought myself a a Bettie Page Clothing sailor dress with a pencil skirt as opposed to the flared skirt. I am going to wear it on Wednesday to the Creative Networking Meeting she has organised there.

Anyway go see her shop.  Its on the 1st floor of Kingly Court, off Carnaby street, London.

Injuries

I dont know how many times I have injured myself during performances. Now if you have seen any of my routines most are energetic and quite 'involved'. I warm before each show and attend yoga/pilates classes to keep flexiable. But its not the muscles that get hurt or injured. 9 times out of 10 it is that I cut my feet. I dont mean a little cut either. Take last night...I currently have a nice 'hole' in my foot where some glass got caught in it. Pure accident but bloody hell it hurt. Thankfully another performer helped me bandage it so I could hobble off home. I have no idea how I manage to damage my feet so much....perhaps my floor antics need to be removed from my routines....ah well! Probably not!

In A Theatre

It would appear that I am back at the Southwark Playhouse again tonight...and Halloween. I must have made a good impression as they booked me pretty quick after my first show with them. I am very excited about performing there again. If you havent been then you really should pop down. I love the vault best of all, they even arrange film shows down there. I am thinking about hiring the place for my birthday next year. Could be a good day what with the spooky atmosphere and great bar prices (which lets face it always helps).

So tonight I am at the theatre taking part in the Secrets side of the show. I cant wait. Anyway better get back to the old rehearsals. I am excited to be doing my Gorilla You Do Voodoo act and my Rabbit Poison one.

How the devil are we all? Just thought I would drop you all a quick reminder that yours truly along with other beevies of burlesque beauties will be performing in support of Macmillian Cancer Support

Follow Link http://burlesqueagainstbreastcancer.blogspot.com/2009/10/babc-in-london.html

Anyway come along and have a giggle. Remember to donate generously as statistically one in three of us will get cancer at some point in our lives apparently. Some of us have been touched by it already and some have yet to be. The least we can do is help those who are suffering and make life a little easier.

Burlesque Down Under

So my trip to Oz (Sydney and Melbourne to be precise) is looming and I can't wait. I have plans to shop like a crazy lady at all the corset/pinup shops and see as much Australian burlesque as possible. My own board treading is in Melbourne but more of that nearer the time.I feel sorry my poor folks who I am supposed to be visiting following their recent immigiration....I mean they are gonna have to be dragged along to the shows. Though I am sure they won't mind. They like them. I think my folks are my biggest fans, my mom is forever talking about her burlesque daughter.
Anyway I am going to have to speak to the lovely Jac Bowie (www.JacBowie.com) to see what shows are on.

Burlesque appears to be a universal language LOL I can't think of a  country that doesn't have it.

Burlesque War

So this is me on my way home on a rather lovely Virgin train (first class oh la la) on my way home from a fabulous burlesque war: cold war burlesque (http://www.coldwarburlesque.co.uk/).
Among the fabulous sponsors was my dear friend Peski DeVille who owns Missy Changos (www.MissyChangos.co.uk) and MonkeyBrand. Her performance of a Russian Bride was hilarious.
There were so many great performers I will list them all once I checked spelling (Burlesque names have some funny spelling not least mine). Candee Handful and Honey Wilde had me in fits of giggles with their acts from Thatcher to Adam Ant what more could you want from a night?!

Whilst the Russian side defeated the British it was lovely to lose to such a talented lot.

My fab moment for the night was the sound of the audience chanting my name. I was so taken back by it. You lot certainly know how to make a burlesque girl feel proud. Thank you.

So until next time Birmingham!

Thanks to all involved in Cold War Burlesque!
